This isn't true at all. It's a fight between those politicians that want to leave and those that want to stay. The vote was a referendum. Which is not legally binding, though it is traditionally political suicide not to carry out a referendum's result. However, most of the politicians who are fighting against Brexit are ones that aren't currently in power. The opposition. And they're refusing to have a general election right now, because they know that would only increase the government's power. Which they do not want. Actually got very little to do with the EU itself at this moment.
